Born and raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Victoria spent 23 years in Chippewa County before graduating from Lake Superior State University (LSSU) with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies, minoring in French and Web Development. She later moved to the Lansing Area to pursue a degree with Michigan State University (MSU), left for a while to pursue vocational experience, and became a student again at MSU where she earned her Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) in December 2024.
She initially worked with technology as a contractor at Bay Mills Community College (BMCC), followed by a role as a Programmer Analyst with Kalamazoo Regional Education Service Agency (KRESA), and now serves as an IT Systems Engineer with BMCC. With over seven years of experience in web development, she’s committed to educational approaches that are student-centered and accessible.
As a member of the Bay Mills Indian Community (BMIC), working for her Tribal Community College means having the opportunity to support students while revitalizing and preserving Anishinaabe culture and language. Her parents, Bucko Teeple and Michele Wellman-Teeple, are very involved in culture and language efforts within the Bay Mills (and greater Anishinaabe) community.
